Fans at San Francisco's WonderCon got chance to ask executive producer Jonathan Steinberg what he thought Target's chances were on a renewal.
"I feel like FOX, they've been a fan of the show from early on. I think they got it. I think they like where the show is... You know what's the weird thing? The temptation early on is that somebody screwed up, but they kinda didn't," Steinberg said of the roll-out. "It was just a series of really bad breaks -- the State of the Union, the Chargers winning -- the odds of all of those things happening are so slim and the odds of us surviving them all are even slimmer, so I think for us, the show seems to be doing pretty well creatively and it seems to be received well and we're still alive. We should have been dead after those first four weeks. So I think those things together are enough to give you an opportunity at a second swing at it." -reports hitfix.com
tvbythenumbers took Steinberg's comments as a good sign saying "The ratings haven't been great, but they haven't been a disaster."
Human Target has been sitting in tvbythenumbers "Some Danger Of Being Canceled." prediction category for weeks.
When asked where the show might go next Steinberg pondered,
"I think that the first season for me, I guess, was getting the three-way dynamic between Guerrero and Winston and Chance to stand on its own two feet and to be right and to get those dynamics right. It's a hard thing to do to throw three guys into a relationship where we're saying they're best friends and they've known each other forever, but we're not going to do a premise pilot, we're not going to show you why any of these things are true, we're just going to dump you into it. In terms of second season, I think we'd love to open the team up a little bit and be able to see a regular female, be able to see more people who recur."
When asked what his favorite part of filming Target was, Valley admitted he really enjoys filming the action sequences, but needed "a half bottle of Ibuprofen" after shooting a fight scene with Lennie James, who plays Baptiste. A comic book hero at heart Valley got the crowd laughing when he said he struggles with not saying "bam!" and "smash!" during his fight scenes, and proceeded to demonstrate it. "I just try to keep my mouth shut and go through the moves," he said.

As for a season two? Valley said he's interested to find out "what happens to my character when he kind of goes back to his previous life. I'm looking forward to more of Armand Assante. I'm curious to see how (Chance) deals with going back into something that he actually left. Now he's more or less paying the fiddler for this previous life." Valley added, "I can't speak for Jackie, but I know that Chi McBride would like to see his character go to the Bahamas. That's what he told me." Haley said, "I'm really starting to become intrigued by these characters and I want to know more about them."
I really like the show and hope that it will be renewed!!!!
It's my number one favorite show.

My crew and I are big fans of Human Target. We were really happy that our TV / web series, "Sidewalks Entertainment," got a chance to interview producer Jon Steinberg and stars Mark Valley and Jackie Earle Haley at WonderCon in San Francisco. I got a chance to talk to Jon, who was really cool and friendly, while my other host talked to Mark and Jackie. If you like to watch our interviews:

This is a great series, witch have to continue. Better than the first one with the singer Rick Springfield. Mark got the body for this role, and have a good balance of intelligence, humor and muscle. The trio of the tree guys is funny and have to be devellop in the future.
This serie is simple (not to much special effect) and is base on the hability of each caracter.
It is a good mixt of TV-series as:
Jo Mannix, Mc Gyver and mission-Impossible.
Some episode, Christofer is like John McLaine in the Nakatomi building (Die-Hard).
So.. Chance, you dont need chance, I am sure the series will continue.
Best reagards to all,you did a good job on HUMAN TARGET.
P.S.- sorry for my english..i am a canadian French
